Pockito Labs ("we", "our", or "us") operates the SplitSmart mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use SplitSmart.

1. Information We Collect

Name and email address (when you sign up)
Profile photo (optional, or imported from Google/Apple)
Phone number (optional)

Expense Data

Expense descriptions, amounts, categories, and dates
Group names and member information
Receipt photos you choose to scan
Notes attached to expenses

Usage Data

App usage patterns and feature interactions
Device type and operating system
Crash reports and error logs

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and improve the SplitSmart service
To process your expenses and split calculations
To power Penny AI features and personalized insights
To send important account notifications
To process subscription payments via the App Store or Google Play
To respond to support requests

3. AI Features (Penny)

SplitSmart uses Claude AI (by Anthropic) to power Penny, our AI assistant. When you interact with Penny, your messages and relevant expense context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic's privacy policy applies to this data. We do not store your Penny conversations beyond your active session.

Receipt scanning uses Claude AI to extract expense information from photos. Receipt images are sent to Anthropic's API for processing and are not stored by us after extraction.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Supabase — our database and authentication provider
Anthropic — to power AI features
RevenueCat — to manage subscriptions
Apple / Google — for authentication and payment processing

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. Your data is stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure. We use HTTPS for all data transmission.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@pockitolabs.com.

Access the personal data we hold about you

Request deletion of your account and data
Export your expense data
Opt out of non-essential communications

8. Children's Privacy

SplitSmart is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by email. Continued use of SplitSmart after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
